Irons
In my shop the irons we stock are Wilson, Callaway, Ping and Cobra. Without a shadow of the doubt the best performing, and therefore best selling iron was the Wilson range.
Their Di9 model was the longest and highest hitting club I tested this year, followed closely (very closely) by Ping G15. Possibly the reason Di9 out sold the rest was because the performance was so good and they sold at almost £200 less per set.
In the "better player" market the Wilson FG Forged iron was my best seller, against the other top end brands the FG Forged iron is again well over £200 cheaper than say Ping's s56 or anser model, or even the x forged from Callaway.
In my opinion in performance terms alone Wilson Staff is where you should be looking. I personally, for the 2010 season, have used the Ci9 range or irons with the TW9 48, 52 and 56 wedges. I think this winter will see me emerge with a set of FG Forged!
*Interesting Fact
From the iron fittings I have conducted on Senior golfers the club of choice was the Cobra S9 in graphite. The ball seemed to really climb high on slower swing speeds.
